The Press-conference dedicated to the start of the Marius Petipa monument design competition was held on March, 12th at the ITAR-TASS press center, St. Petersburg.
The speakers included Farukh Ruzimatov, president of the Foundation and the leader of the Marius Petipa monument project ; Nikita Dolgushin, member of the Foundation Board of Trustees; Daria Kim, art-director of the Foundation; Boris Sergeev, chairman of the sculpture department of the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Union of Artists; Elena Kozyreva, leading specialist of the development and city landscape department of the St. Petersburg Committee for City Planning and Architecture.
The press-conference covered issues concerning the M. Petipa memorial competition including competition requirements and conditions, the perspective memorial site, and possible variants of the memorial artistic and architectural design concepts.
