PUBLIC EXHIBITION OF THE MARIUS PETIPA MONUMENT COMPETITION DESIGNS IS LAUNCH


 

On April 29th 2008, the International Dance Day, the public exhibition of the designs submitted for the competition is launched in the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Union of Artists exhibition center.
The designs will be on public display from April 29th till May 14th 2008. The address of the exhibition center: 38 Bolshaya Morskaya Ul. St. Petersburg 190000 Russia; phone number (+7 812 314 47 34). The center is open daily from 1 p.m. till 7 p.m. (closed on Mondays).

The competition results will be summarized by the jury which comprises 

  1. Alexander Sokolov, Minister of Culture and Mass Communication of the Russian Federation, Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation;
  2. Farukh Ruzimatov, President of the Farukh Ruzimatov Foundation ‘The Renaissance of the Dance Art’, People’s Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Mikhailovsky Theater Ballet Company; 
  3. Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum;
  4. Zorina Myskova, Head of the Board of Trustees of the Farukh Ruzimatov Foundation ‘The Renaissance of the Dance Art’; Counselor of the Minister of Culture and Mass Communication of the Russian Federation;
  5. Nicolai Burov, Chairman of the St. Petersburg City Committee for Culture;
  6. Georgy Sheremetyev, Chief Artist of St. Petersburg Ñàíêò-Ïåòåðáóðãà, Vice Chairman of the Committee for City Planning and Architecture of St. Petersburg;
  7. Vera Dementyeva, Chairman of the Committee for State Control, Utilization and Protection of Historical and Cultural Landmarks;
  8. Nikita Dolgushin, member of the Board of Trustees,  People’s Artist of the USSR;
  9. Boris Sergeev, Chairman of the sculpture department of the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Union of Artists
  10. Helena Perroud, Director of the French Institute in St. Petersburg, Cultural attache of the Embassy of France in Moscow;
  11. Natalia Kudryavtseva, Executive director of the St. Petersburg International Business Association for North-Western Russia (SPIBA);
  12. Valentin Reschikov, sculptor, member of the St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Artists of Russia;
  13. Stanislav Zadorozhnyy, sculptor, member of the St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Artists of Russia;
  14. Galina Ievleva, sculptor, member of the St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Artists of Russia;
  15. Albert Charkin, Chairman of the Union of Artists, rector of the St. Petersburg state academic institute of Art, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Å. Repin, full member of the Russian Academy of Art, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation;
  16. Vladimir Popov, Chairman of the st. Petersburg Union of Architects;
  17. Oleg Romanov, Vice-president of the St. Petersburg Union of Architects.
